WHALE WATCHING

A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE IN THE PELAGOS SANCTUARY
Description
Guided whale watching excursion in the Pelagos Sanctuary, to discover the species that inhabit it.

This sanctuary, which extends from the French coast to the north of Sardinia up to Tuscany, is a protected marine area in the Mediterranean where there is a massive concentration of cetaceans, thanks above all to the wealth of food.

Accompanied by a naturalist guide to learn about the common dolphin, the bottlenose dolphin, the striped dolphin, the fin whale, the sperm whale, the pilot whale, the Risso's dolphin, the beaked whale, the orca and the pseudorca. The excursion lasts approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes, in search of cetaceans in the company of an expert naturalist guide. In the first hour the guide will provide an introductory lesson to cetology in Italian and English.

It is important to know that the search for cetaceans in the waters of the Sanctuary requires patient monitoring and observation of the surface, remembering that we are looking for wild animals and there are no established times or points to meet them. We have to accept a few hours of navigation which will then be repaid by the emotion they transmit to us. Obviously this excursion takes place in the open sea, very far from the coast.

It is important if it is your first experience or you are sensitive to the sea to take the right precautions.
