The Uci Mountain Bike World Series arrives in Liguria from June 1st to 4th
Over the long weekend from 1 to 4 June Pietra Ligure and the entire Finale area will be the protagonists of two spectacular events of the UCI Mountain Bike World Series.

The Finale Outdoor Region has accustomed us to major sporting events and major challenges and 2023 promises to be a year of strong emotions, as well as the culmination of a journey that began many years ago with sporting events that has led this area to be one of the most important and beloved bike destinations in the world.

Thanks to the experience gained in 10 consecutive years of Enduro World Series competitions and to its incredible network of trails and services for bikers, this portion of the Ligurian territory, so linked and full of passion for sport and life in the open air , has won two World Series races: the UCI Enduro World Cup and the UCI Cross – Country Marathon World Cup.

These events will once again bring the best athletes and teams in the world to challenge each other along the spectacular inland trails that run from the mountain to the sea and thousands of enthusiasts to watch the spectacular races live.

The heart of the UCI Enduro World Cup from 1 to 3 June will be Pietra Ligure and its now vast network of trails which already in 2020 and 2021 was the protagonist of a stage of the EWS (Enduro World Series) and two editions of the EWS-E (competition dedicated to pedal assisted MTBs). The event village, the athletes’ paddock, the technical assistance, the exhibition area will color and enliven the streets and squares of the center of Pietra Ligure. The race route on the format with transfers and timed special stages will only be revealed the week before the competition.

The UCI Cross – Country Marathon World Cup, scheduled for 3 and 4 June, instead finds a location, the magnificent Finalborgo, which was already a protagonist in the distant ’97 of the final of the Valtellina Cup with world-famous athletes such as the Olympian Paola Pezzo who returns this year as godmother of the event. One of the first international sporting events that helped raise awareness of Finale Ligure’s potential as a destination for mountain biking far beyond the Italian borders.
