GUIDED NATURAL HIKES
A day at the beach, but in the mountains! This excursion, demanding in terms of length and climb (about 900 meters in total difference in altitude), in fact connects the highest mountain in the Pietri area and the incredible abbey of San Pietro in Varatella in a single day of trekking. We face the bulk of the climb in the morning, climbing to the summit of Monte Carmo at 1389 m, with a 360 degree panorama; border crest between maritime Liguria and the upper Bormida valley, Carmo represents the last station in the south-east for many species of alpine flora. From here we descend to the woods of Cà du Fo and the meadows of Peglia, passing several "caselle" built in dry stone by the shepherds of the past, and then we reach the ancient abbey also called "San Pietrti", founded well before of the year 1000 in this incredible panoramic balcony overlooking the sea... but high up! A full day, with departure at 9 from Giogo di Toirano (pass at an altitude of 800m between Toirano and Bardineto) and return at about 17. Good trekking shoes or boots are required, poles are recommended, water is needed, a packed lunch and snacks, a hat or band for the sun, a k-way and a long-sleeved shirt. Further info, details and registration on https://linktr.ee/visitfinalese – to participate, it is necessary to register by 3 pm of the previous day.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
