TREKKING IN NATURE
Guided botanical excursion
DISCOVERING SPONTANEOUS VEGETATION ON THE TRAIL OF ANCIENT SETTLEMENTSThe excursion, led by an expert botanist, starts from the seafront on the border with Loano from which, through typical tiny alleys, you will begin to climb towards the first stop that will take you among the scents of the pine forest. Then, walking through olive groves and cultivated fields, with stretches of ancient cobblestones and Romanesque walls, you will reach the primitive church of Saints Cosma and Damiano. Behind this church, an ancient path will lead you to a panoramic hill with its gray and limestone rock where, immersed in the aromas of thyme, savory and wild fennel, once stood a 'Castellaro', a dry stone fortification typically built by the ancient Ligurians since the Bronze and Iron Ages, in a dominant position on the coast to fulfill its defensive and control purpose. With a final stretch, you will ascend to the summit of Bric 5 Alberi, characterized by the presence of a nucleus of cork oaks which with their twisted branches frame suggestive glimpses of the sea. You will then descend on the other side of the Bric on the pale rock, rich in quartz minerals, where acidophilic plants such as strawberry trees and tufted lavender grow. A stretch of wood will lead you back to the sea.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
