CULINARY ITINERARIES AROUND THE TOWN CENTRE, TASTINGS WITH LOCAL PRODUCERS, AND WORKSHOPS TO MAKE TRADITIONAL PESTO IN A MORTAR
1 - Our tour begins at 3.
"Da Virginia", a
Pietresi institution
for over 150 years!
Here we will try
two versions of
the traditional
Ligurian speciality of
farinata (chickpea
flatbread)
2 - Our next stop will
be wine tasting at
Giovanni Battista
Levo's wine shop, a
point of reference
in the alleys of
Pietra since 1954.
Locally produced
wine awaits you
here.
3 - Our tour then takes us to
Pastificio Ligure
Pietrese to try authentic
Ligurian pesto which
is made according to
traditional standards
and uses garlic from
Vessalico, a Slow Food
Presidia. The pesto will
be served with fresh,
homemade "trofie" pasta.
4 - We continue to "Cà
du Din" next, in the
heart of Piazza
Vecchia, for a sweet
and savoury stop. Here
we will try Extra
Virgin Olive Oil
made with "Taggiasche"
olives, honey from
the local area and a
selection of traditional,
dry pastries.
5 - When we think of lavander, we imagine vibrant, colourful,
intensly perfumed fields... To conclude our tour we will head
to Peccati di Gola, who have been able to capture the essence
of lavander from Pietra Ligure in their delicious ice-cream.
